Preserving the history of the sport of bird hunting in the region, the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage Museum has exhibits including decoy fowl, art relating to the hunt and stuffed birds. In addition to these displays, the museum manages a boathouse filled with model ships and a garden populated with native plants. The museum lies close to the beach, just blocks southeast of the Contemporary Arts Center of Virginia.
